As a network of 3 GP Practices Patients are registered with Lantern Health at their local surgery:

Patients are able to see any doctor of their choice. However whilst the receptionists will endeavour to comply with a request to see a named doctor it may not always be possible depending on how quickly you would like to be seen. If this is the case an explanation will always be offered. To register at any of our surgeries, you will need to bring in proof of address and your NHS card (if you have one). All new patients are offered a New Patient Health check.

Temporary Registration

There is the option for individuals to ask to be registered with the practice on a temporary basis if they are staying with someone who is currently registered as one of our patients residing within the postal area. This enables such individuals, if they are ill while away from home or aren’t registered with a doctor but need to see one urgently to receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days the individual would need to register as either a temporary patient for up to three months (whilst still registered with their usual GP) or as a permanent patient.

It should be noted that Lantern Health does not have to accept the individual as a temporary patient although there is an obligation to offer emergency treatment. An individual cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in a health district where they are already registered.
